35 weeks!

I just went to my doc and she says that all looks good. Might be a few days or weeks. Hard to tell with twins.  I am almost 36 weeks and that is when I enter a safe zone.  My girls are huge!!! Baby A is 5 1/2 lbs & Baby B (sloth) is 6 1/2 lbs.  They might be 7/8 lbs each at birth. We'll see.  I am in constant pain from the weight of the babies.  I have put on 40/50 lbs so far.   I gained 60/70 with Miss Mia. Crazy how different each pregnancy is. The countdown begins!

So here I am at 34 weeks. I am on light bedrest and trying to really relax. I am hoping to keep these ladies in quite a few more weeks. My cervix is soft and I have an appointment tomorrow so we will see what is going on at this  point.  Dan has been working hard on finishing the girls' room.   It looks really good so far.  Reality is slowly creeping up on us.  I'm starting to get excited.  Mia is trying to wear all the new babies clothes and drink out of their bottles. It might be a hard transition for the little bug. 

32nd WEEK!!!

I am now on my 32nd week and the countdown begins.  I have an appointment on Tuesday with Dr. Tang and hope all goes well. I'm a little nervous because I have been getting lots and lots of Braxton Hicks contractions.  I never noticed them when I was pregnant with Mia.  Twins is a totally different experience.  You don't have any idea until it happens to you.  My back aches and my ankles are swollen.  Things that didn't happen before either.  Oh well....I'm still in awe of the fact that we will have two new babies. It's actually really amazing despite all of the difficulties of this pregnancy.  We got an amazing deal on cribs from Overstock.com

The babies room is still a work in progress. I hope it is finished soon.  We still need a glider/rocker and a few other items.

26/27 weeks!!!

Wow!!! Talk about belly popping.  I have gained 30lbs and my belly just keeps getting larger by the minute.  The shower is coming up soon and we are looking forward to it.  I am starting to prepare myself mentally for the fact that we are going to have 2 new babies!!!!! I am still in a daze.  I'm trying to figure out where we can fit them in our house.  They are both kicking like crazy to the point that it hurts. Strong little ladies. Til next time.

25 Weeks!!!

So I'm pretty bad about keeping up with this blog but as I get bigger I will be posting more frequently.  I have gained around 20-25lbs so far.  At my 24 week visit they both weighed 1.5 lbs!!! So they are right on target.  They are both head down and moving like crazy.  I still can't imagine how big I will get towards the end of my pregnancy.  We have been thinking about names and still love Birdie for one of the girls.  We like Pearl & Hazel too.  Most of our friends & family don't like these choices but its not their babies...so suggestions are welcome and negative feedback on our choices please keep to yourself.  Just kinda funny how passionate people can be about names they like and DON'T like.  The care I've been getting at Mt. Sinai has been great so far. A bit excessive on the ultra sounds but always very nice and friendly.  Dr. Tang has also said that she is willing to do a breech extraction if necessary for a vaginal birth. Most OBs go straight for a C-section if one twin is breech. I'm happy they are willing to go the most natural route with me. Have a wonderful new year everyone!!!!

19 Weeks!

It's been quite awhile since I have updated this blog. Sorry about that.  So we are having 2 girls. You can see that I am getting bigger. I've gained about 12-14lbs somewhere around there.  The ultrasound pictures show the babies fighting.  One of the ladies is throwing a flying elbow at her sister.  I am going to give pregnancy modeling a try. I met with Expecting Models the other day and all went well.  I figure it will be a great way to document the pregnancy.  And hopefully make us a few bucks!!!  I have been feeling some movement in there but not much yet.  We are still throwing around name ideas but still really like Hazel & Birdie.  Dan is going to his first ultrasound appointment this coming Tuesday.  It will be nice to have him see those two bugs fighting in there.

16 weeks!!!

So I haven't posted in awhile and my belly has been growing in the meantime. I've gained 8 pounds and started to feel some movement.  I have an appointment tomorrow for another ultrasound. I am hoping they can tell me the sex of the lil monkeys.  If they cant tell at this appointment I can find out at 18 weeks. Don't know if we can wait that long.  Finding out we were having twins was the biggest surprise!!!!  I also found out that I cant really have a doula in the delivery room because it will take place in the operating room.  Oh well. I'm learning to be flexible and not to be bossed around at the same time. A happy medium. Til next post.........
